Mixed bag on the weather front Brora Golf Club this morning but nothing too bad. Always a pleasure to play such a natural links...
20 degrees, almost non-stop sunshine, barely a breath of wind and a classic old-school Highland links on today's visit to Tain Golf Club for Golf Monthly... what's not to like? 🙂
Still shirtsleeves and shorts in the Highlands and very impressed with Kings Golf Club Inverness in Inverness on Golf Monthly visit today. Loved the 11th hole (first pic) playing up to the top...
Really good to enjoy a preview round on the Old Petty course Cabot Highlands today for Golf Monthly. Lots of great moments visually and strategically and yet another blue sky and shirtsleeves day in the Highlands 😀. Next stop Aberdeen airport for my flight back to Heathrow...
Calling out all golfers in and around Dornoch on Saturday night. TheDramCaddy has organised a fantastic Ryder Cup themed whisky tasting that’s sure to be lots of fun. 👇
Fortrose Golf Links next. A double green, a routing of 18 fine holes through a tiny peninsular that never feels crowded, with an ever-present wind. Even in the dwindling light, players from the very young to the very old are seen plotting their way across this ancient golfing spit.
The rugged 4th is a standout hole, with Chanonry Point Lighthouse a useful target for the dangerous & thrilling approach. What the golfers used for the first 53 years of Fortrose Golf Links , I am not sure. Perhaps they chose a specific bottlenose dolphin, paddling in the Firth…
I’m not that often lost for words, but Golspie Golf Club has spun me into a torpor of sorts. It’s a spell-binding, thrilling ride through fabulous links with a pause for some heavenly heath; just staggeringly good. My main thought is “why did no one tell me it is THIS GOOD?”
