Grateful for the ability to support VEuPathDB. It is fundamental to our lab's daily research activities. We had a few issues initially making the payment, but the team was very helpful. I hope we can come together as field to keep this vital resource!

Parasites need mitochondrial respiration to cause disease. Indeed, common anti-malaria drugs target respiratory enzymes (e.g. atovaquone). But how do the parasite enzymes work and how do drugs inhibit them? Read Andrew Maclean and Alex Mühleip phenomenal work to find out! 👇

I'm breaking my self-imposed twitter exile to share this: Very happy to see our work finally out today in Nature. This is the culmination of 6 years of hard work by Alli. Flaminia, and the rest of the team at Harvard, and colleagues at OHSU. nature.com/articles/s4158…

I used inducible CRISPR/Cas9 to make Trypanosoma brucei cell line that allowed me to edit originally muti-copy histone gene. We uncovered a novel role of H4 histone tail in gene regulation. I had a great time working on this exciting project! nature.com/articles/s4146…
