Dr Tom Montgomery Animals are the beautiful part of this world. They’re leaving in a scream, with tears, desperate crying for help, and yes, quietly too. It’s going to be a bleak world, I feel sorry for the planet, the next generations, but mainly for the most innocent and defenseless beings.

The more I read the news, the more I retreat to the woods. Nature is undemanding, quietly performing complex, beautiful, daily miracles, whether or not we notice. Out here with the trees, there’s an odd reassurance that comes from feeling how insignificant we are, how fleeting.

Dog Poisoned by the Diffuser Saturday night I got home late and my dog didn't recognize me. Being a nanny I thought I woke him up and he was having a night terror. Sunday, he was still acting weird. I realized that I had been running my new diffuser and decided to turn it off.
