Archaic strength coaches hang onto misconceptions from meatheads and ignorance of the masses.
They appeal to oversimplification.
In reality, the more you understand the body… biomechanics… energy systems… nutrition… mental health…
the better you’ll be.
RAISE THE BAR.
Love this
I’ll follow the same logic and say, I’ll stop using heavy unilateral lifts as my primary lower body focus when >99% of sport/real world performance stops being unilateral (or at minimum, incredibly asymmetrical)
🤝🧐
The force produced… and more importantly, the RATE in which it’s produced, in a sprint, makes it a universally great EXERCISE CHOICE for all athletes, especially if power/speed/ground reaction force matters (tip: it does)
SPRINT.
SPRINT.
SPRINT.
People say you can’t get strong with unilateral lifts due to the instability.
I have news ⬇️⬇️
If you can’t stabilize on one leg, you’re compensating through patterns on two.
Guaranteed.
Get strong on one leg and watch it translate to gains with two.
Also guaranteed.
🤷♀️🤷♀️
There are a lot of training methods/systems/strategies/exercises I don’t like.
I don’t view them as “tools in the toolbox”… I view them as inefficient means to an end.
I think the goal is to get the job done BEST.
Better to be great at what’s best than decent at everything.🤷♀️
I’m thankful for people who are kind and compassionate… who live, think, and grow.
I’m thankful for the ones that shine light into the darkness.
I’m thankful for those who make this existence an adventure.
And I’m thankful for the opportunity to try to be that type of person.
Coaches,
You can inform and educate without condescending. Making people feel stupid doesn’t boost your credibility. It makes you appear unpolished and unprofessional. Helping people includes helping them feel heard.
Just observing… 🧐
