KG students have enjoyed learning on the computers for the first time ever this term. They have been practising their mouse skills and have shown persistence and team work when working with a buddy to achieve success! Auburn North PS
Today we began our science unit by building boats. Lots of fun was had! Some of the boats floated, and some sank! It was a great first lesson to engage students and prompt discussion. We will make boats again at the end of the term and apply knowledge gained. Auburn North PS
KG students used iPads today to create patterns during maths. They then explained their pattern and said “what comes next”. Auburn North PS
Today in maths, KG students practised naming, making and describing 2D shapes. The students had so much fun participating in hands-on rotations to support their learning. Auburn North PS
To support vocab lessons, during which Ss learn high-frequency words, I implemented a literacy rotation activity that allows students to practice their words independently. The words are differentiated so Ss are practising words targeted at their ability level. Auburn North PS
As part of our triad lesson study, we have been using video to capture high quality, evidence-based teaching practices for inclusion on a very exciting web-based resource (details to come). For the time being, here are some wonderful pictures of what is to come! Australian Schools Plus
KG students have loved participating in gymnastics as part of their sport program this term! Gemma Goicoechea
KG students have enjoyed learning about money this week. Today they practised identifying notes and coins when visiting the class shop! Students had to work out what coin or note to use to purchase the item they wanted. Gemma Goicoechea
Have loved working alongside Chantel Simon this term as we begin to develop our teacher professional learning sessions for 2021. So many things to be excited about!
