On Clean Monday, a feast called “Apokrigiomata” takes place at the village of Gergeri. The name takes after the verb “apokrigiono”, which means to cut meat consumption, due to Lent season. These Dionysian customs date back to the ancient Greece, and represent the life cycle.

Blended harmoniously in the gardens of Minos Beach art hotel in Crete, is the "Lost Desires" (1996), by Klitsa Antoniou. An art installation, created during the summer 1996 exhibition of Cypriot artists entitled “Riches of Cyprus” which was held at the hotel.
