PRINCIPAL MADMAN!: always lots of questions about this dude. he was actually based on 'Mr. Schidtler' from the Nickelodeon show 'You Can't Do That on Television!' (played by LES LYE): Any resemblance to historic dictators is purely coincidental.

RJ CAST MEMORIES: just realized I haven't mentioned MITCH and CUBEY!!! Mitch was performed by Gary Leroi Gray Mr. Gray, and Cubey was Myles Jeffrey Myles Jeffrey. Both were great actors and SUPER cool kids! They really brought those characters to life!!!

If you haven't guessed, I love the idea of 'drawings coming to life'. That's why I tried so hard to keep ROBOT. JONES looking like it was just drawn on paper. the fact that this is an actual panel of animation that aired on TV still blows my mind (and makes me giggle!) #animation

MORE OLD PAPERS: so I also found this old 'call sheet' from the RJ auditions. (can you imagine TOM KENNY (SpongeBob) as the voice of the YOGMANS??!!?). The only actor from this page to land a role was Gary Leroi Gray Mr. Gray as RJ's super cool friend 'Mitch'

OLD CN MEMORIES: so if you went up the graffiti stairwell at CN to the roof, there used to be a pingpong table. here's a drawing by Paul Rudish (Mickey Mouse shorts) of me, Mike Stern, Charlie Bean and Aaron Springer in the heat of battle...

that ‘RJ thru the years’ drawing reminded me of a picture of the Honda ASIMO. I was obsessed with it while making ‘Robot’. I finally got to see ASIMO not long after the show ended at the science museum. When it walked out on stage i cried like a baby…
