A hi-tech sensor called a ‘B-Scan Sensor Unit’ has been installed on Hayling Island beach this week by Coastal Marine Applied Research The sensor will help us to understand how the beach responds to storms & surge events. The B-Scan system purely monitors beach material.
Next #Eurocoast Zoominar is Fri 22/07 at 3 PM (UK time) and is by Professor Aart Kroon who will be presenting his work on: Coastal evolution of Arctic deltas in Greenland. If you are not on the mailing list, please contact [email protected] to get the zoom link.
15-min video showing the complexity of beach morphology and resulting rip current flow dynamics (see drifting foams) we monitor - believe it or note, 0.5-m tide difference can shift rip direction by ~90° within ~30 min #SWYM Project @DehezJeoffrey Vincent Marieu Observatoire Aquitain des Sciences de l'Univers
It is always a privilege and a pleasure to work with Bruno Castelle, and I am pleased as punch to see our review published: Morphodynamics of wave-dominated beaches bit.ly/3CeqTsk
