Hairy-footed Flower #bees (Anthophora plumipes) will soon be out and about. The ginger coloured males emerge first, followed a week or so later by the all-black females. They have a penchant for lungwort, dwarf comfrey, red dead nettle & wallflowers, so keep your eyes peeled!

Seeing the interview in its entirety is sickening, but at the same time the bullying & patronising nature of it is getting plenty of coverage for what is the most crucial time for our future existence on this planet. Only one person came out of this well & that’s Miranda Whelehan

"Horizons were misty, the sun cold with blue sky above, the north wind light. Herring gulls in snow were calm as camels in the desert. Goldfinches...fluttered & hovered over thistle-heads...Their calls chipped at the frosty air." JA Baker, The Peregrine (1967), January entry
