📰 Two PataniLab papers have shown how proteins accumulate in the wrong parts of cells in motor neurone disease, and have shown proof of concept in the lab for how it might be possible to reverse it in some cases. @BrainComms | Brain | #MND | #ALS 🔗ow.ly/9A2W50FLFEO

By studying how proteins accumulate in the wrong parts of brain cells in motor neurone disease, PataniLab scientists from UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology & The Crick have demonstrated how it may sometimes be possible to reverse this Jasmine Harley Giulia Tyzack Jacob Neeves ucl.ac.uk/news/2021/aug/…

Please RT. PhD students funded by UK Research and Innovation face a cash crisis. They are working full-time, yet earning less than living wage. With the rising cost of living and increasing pressure to deliver high quality research that benefits society, something needs to change. THREAD (1/10)

Standing ovations for the Lalji award winners for the development of Jacifusen, a gene therapy for FUS-ALS. We heard from Anna who since receiving Jacifusen has shown improvements in function. Jacifusion is now undergoing a phase 3 trial to fully test the benefit for FUS-ALS.
