She has put so much effort in and has delivered some excellent research on clinical decision making of sick calves. #proudsupervisor University of Nottingham Vet School RuminantPopnHealth

Sustainability of British Farming - let’s not even discuss that when the some of the supermarkets fly lamb in from across the other side of the world….please think about where your food is actually coming from and buy local #backbritishfarming #buylocal instagram.com/reel/C08fD3MN6…

Does your farm have a sea of replacements (ie excess heifers) to hide health and disease issues? If yes = a large economic & carbon impact-need to look at target lifetime yield & ability to retain cows in herd. Great presentation by Ben Williams Trouw Nutrition GB sustainability day

Nigel Armstrong from University of Nottingham presenting around improving sustainability on farm at the Trouw Nutrition GB sustainability day - diet tweaks including removing soya in a high yielding herd resulted in 10% reduction

Ian Pinhey from Upcott Farm Trouw Nutrition GB sustainability day - sustainability is the same thing as efficiency. If we become efficient, then we become more sustainable. Absolutely spot on - SRUC showed 55% & 20% waste for cattle industry is DLWG & mortality = inefficient

It all starts with youngstock 🐮 Great day Trouw Nutrition GB sustainability day - it’s all about ⬆️ efficiency of herd, thinking about what value is added, continually monitoring, question why and it all starts from Day 1 of life in a cow’s life Thanks for the invite Trouw

Great day with Trouw Nutrition GB talking about feeding calves to mimic Mother Nature. We need to look at we are feeding in terms of ingredients, volumes and calories going to help develop the calf, not only in terms of bodyweight but also the rumen, small intestine & immune system.

Interesting discussion around implementing carbon footprint measuring and reducing at Trouw Nutrition GB conference on sustainability. 🐄Biggest wins start with the calves but will take time to see the impact
