We are starting our first 3-D printing lessons in 3rd-5th grade this week. We are learning to use Tinkercad to make a name keychain and will use our Flashforge® printers from Maker Maven to print!

I had the pleasure of watching Fiest Elementary Honor Choir, Owens Elementary choir, and Hairgrove Elementary choir all join together with Labay MS Choir Labay Band Labay Middle School 🦅 orchestra. It was so awesome to see past Fiest Bears performing!

2nd and 3rd grades had a FABULOUS Monday this week when author and illustrator Drew Brockington came for a visit! They learned all about the research that goes into his Catsronauts series and how you can turn a potato drawing into a space cat. Fiest Elementary

3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students had such a WONDERFUL Wednesday getting the opportunity to hear Newbery honor winner Kirby Larson speak! They learned about her journey to becoming an author and how research and a writer’s notebook inspires her writing. Fiest Elementary

This week the library became the Fiest Chromebook Clinic & PK-5th came to the clinic with their Chromebook for a health check up. Dr. Boughter, Doctor of Chromebook Health (not a real doctor!) gave everyone checkups! We removed stickers, cleaned cases, relabeled & got repairs.

Happy School Librarian Day! I’m so proud to be the librarian at Fiest Elementary! It is the best job in the world and I get to teach the coolest kids in PK to 5th grade!
