Yesterday at Makars’ Court we celebrated the 300th birthday of Donnchadh Bàn Mac an t-Saoir/Duncan Ban Macintyre (1724-1812), one of the most famous and best-loved of all #Gaelic poets. Our unique national monument has over 30 flagstones commemorating great Scottish writers.

A replacement plaque providing historical context to the role of Henry Dundas was installed today at the base of the Melville Monument in St Andrew square.
