God's first commandment to man and woman was to "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it." Our purpose as humans is intimately connected with being fruitful and multiplying.

A fruit is the ripened ovary of a plant containing a seed capable of reproducing an entire other plant. It also provides a way to disperse the seed.

The fruit we produce is distinct from the works we do. Colossians 1:10.

The purpose of work is to bear good fruit - for the results to last and multiply.

Work = force x distance. Work is the energy and effort required to move something.

Our bodies are a seed. When planted, the seed stops being a seed and dies. What rises out of the ground is glorious and fruitful. 1 Corinthians 15:38 John 12:24

Good works are not the same as bearing fruit. Neither bearing fruit nor performing good works are not the same as not sinning.
