The last YouTube video I uploaded to my edu-channel was Sept 2021. Had about 11k subscribers at the time. Since then several of my classroom management videos have taken off. I just hit 30,000 subscribers. Pretty crazy to watch it passively grow from videos I made years ago!

I'm huge on reflecting & journaling as well as goal setting...but I just can't even approach the 'where do you want to be in 10 years' question. Almost seems silly to try.

Arranging your classroom so you can see what everyone is working on and who is on or off task (or as best you can if you’ve got an awkwardly shaped room) is such a simple & effective classroom management strategy.

This is my most common advice to teachers who struggle with classroom management. Find a teacher with a reputation of a positive classroom culture. Tell them what you’re struggling with and get their feedback. They know your school culture better than anyone.

Such a great feeling when you do a Google Search on a former student from years ago and see they're doing really well. Searched a 5th grade student of mine from 2013 and he's started his own business 👍

Having a class job of ‘celebration coordinator’ who would would make or bring a small gift for anyone who had a birthday that week and lead in singing happy birthday. They had a list of everyone’s birthday they referenced every week.
