I have been playing four player Frosthaven solo since Xmas. It has taken away all of my video game time. (I am also running a startup and caring for chickens etc. so I never had that much free time.)

We joked about it woo april fools. But we are actually doing a very lowkey dev stream to talk about our first biome and how it fits into the gameplay and narrative!

One of our engineers summarized our blue zone feature in a way I really liked. Most games with procgen are depending on the procgen to make the experience. We design the experience up front and then use the roguelike and procgen elements to execute it.

Just returned from an epic trip to Hangzhou and Guangzhou, CN to meet with NetEase colleagues. Their MMO design is about 10 years ahead of the West, while ours feels a bit frozen. I learned a lot and ate a lot of amazing food. Will be back soon!

There are a lot of downsides to virtual meetings. But one element I’ve really come to appreciate is how you can have two conversation streams at once with chat being the less important anecdotal or even meme stream.
