Annual request to please respond with any post-bacc positions in astronomy you know of! Grad admissions was rough this year, and there are lots of awesome undergrads now looking for research positions to help prepare them to apply again.

A new image released from the Large Binocular Telescope showing Jupiter's moon Io. The sharpest ever taken from a ground based telescope and well beyond what even HST has produced. From Earth Io spans around 1 arc second across. news.berkeley.edu/2024/05/30/wit…

I'm happy to share this paper by Steward Observatory, University of Arizona PhD student Gabe Weible on an intriguing substellar companion in the Pleiades! Few such objects are known, and understanding the orbit of HII 1348B helps to piece together its method of formation. arxiv.org/abs/2501.16429

A team of astronomers from the University of Arizona has discovered a growing planet, WISPIT 2b, outside our solar system. This discovery provides evidence that protoplanets can create gaps found in planet-forming disks. kvoa.com/news/u-of-as-t…
