Newcastle ft Needed to make the game far less open than it was end of first half, or it would've gotten away from us before the hour. We actually did that well but it came at the expense of any attacking threat. Thought we were defensively sound second half and despite the

For better or worse we're a team of kids. Newcastle's back line and gk today all 33/34 (bar Livramento). We got schooled by experience, and it'll just keep happening against certain sides this season sadly.

How bothered should we be that we spent €25m on two wingbacks this summer yet it looks like Hugo Bueno and Rodrigo Gomes are still our best options there?

Jose Sa 4 games played 16 shots on target faced 11 goals conceded Substandard, and a huge part of our problems right now that's being overlooked Two handed slow-motion dives against high shots are actually comical, and low shots are going straight through his hands everytime

For context Leeds Xg today 0.49 Course we were bad and I won't defend the performance but looking at those stats that's a game teams win 1-0 or draw 1-1 typically It ain't good enough from a PL keeper and frankly he's a liability now

VP getting closer to figuring out his best 11? Tonight's team and system would've beaten Leeds on Saturday I'm sure of it (esp with Joao in cm instead of JRB.) Maybe we do have enough but it needs to be translated into PL points now, and fast. #wwfc

I'm still (and always have been) VP IN but if we go back to a back 3 of Toti Agba and Mosq with Sa in goal and Andre benched on Saturday then it might be time for a very serious rethink.

Maybe Lopez for Hwang (who could probs alternate better with Munetsi) but besides that this is exactly what I'd have done following that Everton showing tbf

Saw enough against Everton and tonight to say we could comfortably compete well enough to stay up in this system. Only problem now is VP's tendency to lose faith in it as games ebb on, overloading us with defenders. It should help but it's actually a hindrance. No need. Trust it.

I just feel like him and Krejci understand each other and despite the fact we have about 5 other cbs all wanting/needing gametime we should really just go all in on that partnership at the heart of our defence.

As suspected we look a perfectly competitive PL side in this system. Right now there's no need to change anything unless the game absolutely calls for it. Nothing spectacular but solid enough and have the lead. Second half game management massive here.

Deja vu 2 points that really should've been 6 There's a pattern emerging and it's down to our approach to the last 3rd of games It doesn't work We switch to a 5, sacrifice possession, retreat. Brighton then get on top, and equalise Carry on and this'll just keep happening

Been clearing out some iCloud storage and found this from 21/12/2018. Just look at what Wolves had then, 7th in the PL at the time of this game and a great squad of players - then compare to what we have now and how the club is being run 😩 These were the best #wwfc times
