In 1938 PM Neville Chamberlain🇬🇧 (knowing war was imminent) returned the Treaty Ports (Lough Swilly, Spike Island & Berehaven) to Éire🇮🇪 unconditionally & ended the Anglo-Irish Trade War for £10M. The Ports were poorly maintained difficult to defend & needed a massive investment.

During WW2 wireless stations at Malin Head Co Donegal🇮🇪 & Valentia Island Co Kerry🇮🇪, provided ship to shore communications, had weather stations nearby, were close to convoy routes, retained their UK🇬🇧 call-signs & were operated by the Irish Dept of P&T for the UK🇬🇧 Post Office.

200+ planes crashed/made forced landings in Éire🇮🇪 during WW2. All but 15 were Allied🇬🇧🇺🇸 aircraft. There were 823 aircrew, 223 of which were casualties. Below the full military honours rendered to the crew of RAF Hampden🇬🇧, that crashed near Blessington Co Wicklow🇮🇪, April 1941.

Fascinating article especially pages 16 & 17 on the non-existent Book of Condolences. "A Comparative Critique of the Practice Of Irish Neutrality in the ‘Unneutral’ Discourse". Karen Devine, IRCHSS Centre for International Studies, Dublin City University🇮🇪 doras.dcu.ie/2167/1/isia_19…

Fascinating article on how Éire🇮🇪 protected itself & its Jewish citizens from the Nazi threat in WW2. irishtimes.com/culture/books/… In 1966 the Dublin-Jewish community planted the Eamon de Valera Forest near Nazareth🇮🇱 in thanks for the support he had given them in his years in office.

1939 "Everything here is perfectly abnormal: for the first time since the Battle of Clontarf (1014) we are neutral" from the Irish🇮🇪 satirical magazine ‘the Dublin Opinion’.

So much for Irish🇮🇪 “Neutrality” in WW2. This is a secret document regarding Shannon Airport (Rynana) Co Clare🇮🇪 in Sept 1941.

Whenever another WW2 apology is issued by the Irish Government🇮🇪, it should be for the shame brought on the Irish people (especially the US & UK diaspora) in burning 75 tons of records that showed our massive contribution to the Allies, so that they can pretend we were 'Neutral'.

Amazingly, someone forgot to tell the Foynes Harbour Master🇮🇪 to destroy the WW2 records. They list every aircraft that visited, the flight schedules, passenger manifest's & intelligence reports. The Foynes Museum Booklet is incredible. No such luck at Rineanna (Shannon Airport).

These are the 60 aircraft that visited Foynes Co Limerick🇮🇪 during WW2, with BOAC (effectively the Royal Navy🇬🇧) & Pan Am (effectively the US Navy🇺🇸) the main operators. BOAC also ran the facility with accommodation provided nearby. The RAF🇬🇧 operated 3 planes in/out of Foynes🇮🇪.

For some reason a soccer match between Ireland🇮🇪 & Germany in 1936 implies the Irish🇮🇪 were pro-Nazi, while England’s🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 players performed the Nazi salute before their 1938 match in Berlin! Ignorance is bliss. For what REALLY happened in Ireland🇮🇪 in WW2 see below. Jim O'Neill

Is it not ironic that after the British elite blocked Irish Home Rule☘️ & divided our island, thus wiping out our feared army Regiments & ensuring we had no army/navy/air force☘️, they complained at the onset of WW2 when we🇮🇪 were neutral, because we had no army/navy/air force🇮🇪.

One can only marvel at the usual lies emanating from pro-Israeli🇮🇱 sites on Éire🇮🇪 in WW2 - pro-Nazi/U-boats/lights/condolences & especially their anti-IRA hypocrisy, when during WW2 their 🇮🇱heroes were fighting for independence using IRA tactics. G2🇮🇪 crushed the IRA during WW2.

Another fascinating 🇮🇪🇬🇧meeting in Dublin in March 1941 (when the US🇺🇸 was neutral), regarding the simultaneous German invasion of Éire/UK, German paratroopers 'attired in British battledress' landing in Éire🇮🇪 & the Cork/Limerick ports being major targets difp.ie/volume-7/1941/…
