1 - There is a new book out now called George Michael: A Life in which I’m quoted quite a bit. I never cooperated with this book, I’ve never spoken with the author and from what I can see it’s bollocks. #GeorgeMichael

2 -Pretty much everything that has been attributed as quote to me about George, from ‘Stoned Waster’ onwards has been bollocks and this book continues that grand tradition. There is one bit I cannot let go though. #GeorgeMichael

3 - I’m quoted wrongly as saying that George had a ‘deep-seated paranoia’ about his sexuality & was ‘terrified that his big secret was going to come out’. I’ve never said / thought this. George Michael did not have a deep seated paranoia about people knowing he was gay.

4 -Opposite was true. Only paranoia about George’s sexuality was from his record company & probably a bit from his immediate circle too, many of whom either disapproved / were unable to imagine a post ‘out’ world where George could be who he really was & they could still profit

5 -George himself was comfortable in his position. This is the man who wrote #Fastlove ffs. It’s a cottaging anthem. Also, have a look at the androgyny / ‘milk churn boys’ in the #WaltzAwayDreaming video. Hardly Chuck Norris is it?

6 -I have long believed that one of the tragedies in Georges life was that despite the vast sums he paid to friends to support them and expensive advisers to support him in his career, not one of them had the wit or intellect to help the guy to be open about his sexuality ...

7 - in a way that would minimize the impact on his family and his career. He wasn’t paranoid, he was a victim of the institutional homophobia that exists in the music business and in that regard he had little or no support from those who could and should have done more.
