In hot(!) Helsinki today for a performance of choral works by Helena Tulve and Kaija Saariaho with the Helsinki Chamber Choir. Never get bored of this art deco church. Sibelius composed a jingle for its bells.

On this day in 1925, Composer Luciano Berio was born This summer we heard his work ‘Cries of London’ performed by The Carice Singers in their Londoner outfits! It sets to music the sounds of the street criers of London’s markets - here’s a few of our favourite Cries 🧄

My first time hcmf// and WOWZA — one of the most stimulating few days ever + @GBSRduo proving once again that they can’t be human(?!). Can’t recommend enough, whatever your tastes in music!

The most warm-spirited, generous and inimitable person — deeply saddened by her passing but happy that we met those precious few occasions. She made enormous contribution to our understanding of Irish music, inc. her beautiful book on Ina Boyle.

The wonderful Daniel Kidane with also-wonderful Manchester Camerata in rehearsal. It’s been a fantastic Focus Day so far here at Wigmore Hall. So rare to get a set of events so concentrated on one composer. Looking forward to this evening’s performance!
