Unless there was a pre-planned strategy for the #TwitterLayoffs, then I suspect shortly we'll get a great example of the failure to understand tacit knowledge in action. nickmilton.com/2016/07/a-grea…

Love this interaction: promote understanding and cooperation - not fear and decisiveness. We're currently living in an era of fear and division propagated and amplified through social media.

Watching this #TwitterLayoffs thing live is morbidly interesting for those of us interested in #resilience . Yesterdays micro-services stuff was Chesterton's fence, today I'm reminded of the #deadseaeffect as articulated by Bruce Webster brucefwebster.com/2008/04/11/the…

Spending some time back in the office again, and trying to be good by taking the train but reminded constantly of just how awful ScotRail services have become after years of neglect. Costs more than driving, frequent cancellations and standing room only if the services run 🤬

What font should be on your book cover? Well if you've had it with Helvetica and you're tired of Times New Roman why not revive a classic pulp typeface or two? Here's a list of some pulpy fonts that are fruitier than Frutiger and louder than DIN 1931...

This day in 1812 Spencer Perceval became the only Prime Minister to be assassinated. It's the LEAST interesting thing about him. With his frenemy James Stephen he engineered one of the first bans on slavery in British territory. And he did it WITHOUT parliamentary approval /1 🧵

Attending #cyberscotland summit today. These sessions are always a great way to share learning and experiences. Eddie Hawthorne CEO of Arnold Clark explained how a company where 5% of it's IT staff were working on cyber security still fell victim to a ransomware attack.

Well, that's the kids fully schooled in what it means to be a #scotland supporter. Lessons learned: 1. Hickey & Dykes were a huge loss 2. Shankland deserved more game time 3. Angus Gunn is awful 4. Clarke has zero tactical abilities

Observations on scotland last night, Gilmour and Mctominay had a poor game for their standards. Christie and Maclean were just poor. Doak ripped Gvardiol to pieces huge performance. Gordon is an upgrade on Gunn, big John Souttar was phenomenal. Croatia sans modric are average.
