There is another way that does not require an army to arrest students

This is so incredibly wild to watch if you remember the UC Davis pepper spray incident in 2011. That was a HUGE story—the cops' names weren't even released until a 2014 court order, and UC Davis spent 175K to scrub the pictures from the internet. But TEAR GAS?!

One of the post docs in my PhD lab used to call this “let’s go get refresh,” and I’ve never had a better description of this act.

It is absolutely ridiculous that no one at some of our nations best universities seem to know a damn thing about de-escalation and conflict resolution.
