Also happening at our GSI at 90 event, hereโs DCU History & Geogโs Kathleen Stokes presenting the Doctoral Research Award to Dr Jane Feeney (Jane Feeney), who completed her PhD at TCD Geography - congratulations Dr Feeney!
And finally Ruth McManus @[email protected] presented the GSIโs lifetime achievement award to Dr Joe Brady of UCD Geography, with some lovely reflections on Joeโs stalwart work as part of the GSI during his career, and particularly as editor of our journal, Irish Geography
Well done to Isha Smiti Thakur, who received a Geographical Society of Ireland postgraduate travel award at the event this evening. Isha, whose research is on impacts of hydrodams in Brahmaputra river basin, will use the award to present her work at Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). Jimmy O'Keeffe and I are proud supervisors.
Thank you Geographical Society of Ireland - a real honour and appreciate so much the work it takes to keep promoting books! Just sorry Naomi Millner wasn't there too.
