A very good meeting to support part of our urban environment. The Friends of Ropemakers Fields had their first meeting. I wish them all of my best wishes, am sure the best wishes of many. To assist in protecting our urban environments is a task we should all take on.

The tallest tree in Wales got damaged by a storm and was supposed to be cut down, instead chainsaw artist Simon O'Rourke found a better solution to symbolize the tree’s last attempt to reach the sky.

How many people out there are going to give wildflowers a chance by leaving areas of their gardens uncut this year? Please RT if you plan to offer a lifeline to pollinators like bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies and bats by mowing less 🐝

Very good walk along The Great Eastern Parks Route 9th March with cabinet members for the environment of Hackney & Newham, Caroline & James. Also good Neil of CPRE to be with us. Looking how it is all connected in East London. The weather was with us.

Elections are nearing in London boros. We must all ensure that the London environment takes precedent in all planning decisions. Often ignored or downplayed. Cavell St Gardens saved.

Gardens are integral in any city, in Agadir, Morocco a brand new park is being created. Investment in the environment is greatly needed in London would this happen.

Its maddening when 4 yrs of inaction by Tower Hamlets Homes in LBTH is at best lackluster in protecting the environment. One of the most beautiful cherry trees in East London may fail owing to neglect. A disease seems to be spreading. we need an expert not the area caretaker.

This is a much-needed campaign by the Woodland Trust that I whole-heartedly support. Its bizarre how little protection our ancient trees have compared to ancient buildings & monuments. It's now time for our most precious trees to be properly protected and cared for.
