BREAKING: Tom Thibodeau has been relieved of his duties as Knicks head coach, league source tells The Post. Team felt it is in best interest of getting to next level of winning championship. Decision was Leon Rose’s, per league source, with owner’s support.

major credit to Thibs for helping elevate the Knicks from a league-wide laughingstock when he first arrived to a legit contender by the time he left. He helped instill a serious, winning culture that has carried thru to this day

Worth noting: Knicks owe Tom Thibodeau at least $30 million guaranteed on his recently-signed extension, per sources. Also worth noting: NYK won a playoff series in 3 straight years under Thibodeau: from 2001 to 2020, they won just 1 series. He built winning foundation here.

Thibs did a great job helping turn things around, but he didn't get a raw deal. It's very reasonable to justify if you're tuned into this team every night and don't just lock in for national games and playoffs while pretending to be an expert on 30 NBA teams on your national pod

Firing Tom Thibodeau is a tough call but the right choice. Had all year to experiment with two-big lineups. He didn’t, even after Mitchell Robinson returned. Had all year to install layers to the offense, and he never did. Knicks need a more creative coach to take the next step.
