For the first time ever, all spacecraft ports at the space station are full with 8 docked vehicles as 10 crewmembers conduct cutting-edge science in orbit. The station will shift to a seven-person crew next week as a Soyuz trio returns to Earth. nasa.gov/blogs/spacesta…

US companies provide 70% of cloud-services in Europe. Can we please stop this utter nonsense that the EU has escalation dominance over the US.

… and all those responsible, along the years, have been amply rewarded for their “results” with gongs, peerages etc.

One of those rare few articles, from the vast torrent of nonsense defence blabber (sorry, “expert opinion” I mean), that really matter.

Unsurprisingly for a self-confessed “liberal”, Stubb is entirely wrong w/ his “multipolarity” thesis. The world’s systemic power structure is now bipolar (US/CN), & trending towards *tripolarity* (+ RU) depending how Ukr war plays out. EUR, nowhere. More: brusselssignal.eu/2025/12/a-new-…

Correct. Funnily enough my piece yesterday for Brussels Signal — just before the US NSS came out — anticipated exactly this view of Europe as now a secondary playground for the other main powers in the system. The end of the great-power road for Europe. brusselssignal.eu/2025/12/a-new-…

Actually quite the opposite. It may have other faults, but lack of coherence isn’t one of them. In fact it’s the *most* coherent US NSS in memory, because it fuses politics with strategy. Usually these docs are at best good “strategic frameworks”. But politics drives everything.

Spacepower is now THE conference to be for military and strategic space conversations. I've been proud to be an advisor to the Space Force Association since their conception and it has been amazing to watch Hippie Woolf and the team build this. See you there next week!

From Hegseth’s latest speech. Game over in Indo-Pac. Posturing etc will continue ofc, but “containment” has now failed and now we’re in Kissingerian terrain of co-existence / co-evolution. New era, new & different strategic script. Allies beware.

Hedging your language and padding it with superfluous & deflective words like here (Putin “believes”) is part of the public-opinion survival kit of the realist analyst living in the West today. Truth-telling tactics are evolving as environment trends twds Soviet style conformism.

Cathie Wood A major additional factor should be considered. Satellites with localized AI compute, where just the results are beamed back from low-latency, sun-synchronous orbit, will be the lowest cost way to generate AI bitstreams in <3 years. And by far the fastest way to scale within 4

I’d read the NSS the other way: jettisoning Pacific commitments while deepening interest in European politics and demographics shows America drawing Europe closer into a core, civilisational empire. It’s Europe’s current leadership being let go.

Guy Dampier (@dampierguy) 's Twitter Profile Photo

All very well to snark but a UK with the demographics of Birmingham obviously won't have the same view of the USA or the same interests as the UK currently does. The same holds true across Europe. The Americans are just being realistic.
