Just because a pro-choice person cannot determine where the dividing line is between a valuable human infant and (in her mind) a non-valuable human zygote, that does not mean that there isn’t a difference.

Consent to sex is not consent to pregnancy? If I go to a casino and bet on roulette, but it doesn’t land on my number, I lose my chips. I can’t say “now that I’ve seen the outcome, I withdraw consent.” You don’t get to withdraw consent from effects of an action you consented to!

Many people need more than one conversation to change their mind about an important issue like abortion. Some people need a relationship.

The most important concept is that when somebody starts talking about “life” in the abortion debate, don’t make another step before clarifying whether they’re talking about biological life or something more philosophical.

While sidewalk counseling, there may be a time when threats or acts of violence against you become a reality. It is important to know how to handle such a situation, and, in particular, when and how to involve the police.

I think we agree that killing people, generally speaking, shouldn’t be an option. So, if, as I’m claiming, abortion kills a person, then abortion shouldn’t be a legitimate option. I’m not forcing the woman to do anything by arguing that we should take away an illegitimate option.

What’s our goal for stopping abortion? We have no interest in controlling women’s bodies or punishing people for having sex or something. We just want to end legalized killing of innocent people, and the unborn are people.

People changing their mind in front of you is not the only way to measure success. It might be that the person you’re talking to feels more comfortable around you, so you have a longer, serious conversation that the person can reflect on later.

Pro-freedom? Me too. But AT MINIMUM, physical violence against innocent people for no self-defense or just war type of reason must be illegal. So abortion must be illegal. I’m pro-freedom, but physically killing an innocent human isn’t a thing anyone should have the freedom to do
