This summer is the 50th anniversary of Gene Wolfe beginning the novella “The Feast of Saint Catherine” which grew into “The Book of the New Sun”. See “Castle of Days” for the essay in which Wolfe vaguely summarizes it.

Shocking that this writer made more from foreign sales in small markets than he did on US sales. Kind of like Spinal Tap being a big hit in Japan I guess lol. Super fun to talk about my old friend Mike Resnick’s book on the business of science fiction with my other old friend
