There’s a kind of tired that sleep can’t fix. It’s the tired that comes from masking your pain, holding back tears, and pretending to be okay. That kind of tired deserves compassion.

I want to be the reason and the dream you keep chasing I want to calm your restless heart I want to be the warmth that wraps around you The gentle calm beside you I want to be your laughter As my hand wipes away your tears I will be your gentle touch In every little way

Trauma made you: • Hyper-independent. • Suspicious of kindness. • Afraid of having no hope/ or afraid to have it. • Numb, then overwhelmed, then angry. • Always bracing for the worsted to happen. • Having self doubt moment that you are not worthy.

Trauma survivors rarely say “I’m struggling.” They say: “I’m just tired.” “I’ve got a lot on.” “It’s been a weird week.” They don’t ask for help. They downplay everything. Because life taught us that being honest makes people disappear.

I’m tired” can mean: I’m drained. I’m depressed. I’m overstimulated. I’m lonely. I’m emotionally done. But we say “tired” because it’s easier than explaining the pain we are suffering
