Our thoughts are with those affected. No child should have to experience this. Hospitals, health care workers, and patients are not a target 👇

International humanitarian law treaties adopted in peacetime must be upheld precisely in more insecure times. To withdraw from such treaties when faced with a higher risk of armed conflict is at odds with the very concept of IHL. Our appeal to States👇 icrc.org/en/news-releas…

For several years, armed violence has shattered lives in #BurkinaFaso, with millions of civilians forced to abandon their homes, often after witnessing atrocities. Together with the health authorities, we are supporting programs to identify and treat traumatized children.

Last year was the deadliest for humanitarian workers globally, and 2024 is set to be worse. Civilians also suffer the consequences as aid is hindered. Today we stand in solidarity with civilians caught in conflict and those risking their lives to help them. They are #NotATarget
