Finding a large intracytoplasmic mucin vacuole in salivary gland FNA for a "Low-grade Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma" is often like finding an INCI for a "Papillary Carcinoma" on a thyroid FNA. Your confidence level for the diagnosis goes way up.

“Architectural Diversity” is frequently touted as a hallmark feature of salivary gland “Polymorphous Adenocarcinoma” (PAC). Here is an example of a PAC on FNA of an intraoral mass simulating an adenoid cystic carcinoma. Esther Diana Rossi

CC336. In her 60s. Followed because of breast Ca (2 years ago). She now has hypothyroidism and several nodular/pseudonodular thyroid lesions. The 3rd image shows the contrast between normal thyroid (with lipofuscin, left) and the problem (right). More images and test below.

Calcifications (“psammoma-like”) and stromal amyloid (both seen here), although uncommon, can be observed in well-differentiated “Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors” (PanNET). Best prep to look for them, cell block sections. (Pancreas, EUS-FNA)

CC337. What a cytoplasm! I can't take my eyes off. Day 0: pleural effusion in a middle aged woman. The chest X ray shows a "balloon release" or cannonball pattern. "It is positive. If you know anything else that can help me let me know". Two hours later the phone rang. #cytopath
