Red Lion, Ampney St. Peter, #Gloucestershire 🍻 Superb 400-year-old country pub caught in a time warp. One of the great unspoilt rural classics and one of only eight traditional pubs with no bar counter. Reopened in 2023 after ten years closure, this remains a must-visit.

Ye Olde Bird in Hand pub, 17 Long Acre, Covent Garden. The sign proudly says that it’s been a tavern since 1691. Sadly demolished soon after the first photo was taken in 1954.

The King's Head, Kingscourt, #Stroud 🍻 The Pub is located up windy and narrow lanes in the oldest part of #Kingscourt. The 1996 edition of ‘Real Ale in Gloucestershire’ described it as being one of the most difficult pubs to find in the county.

The British Oak, Stirchley, #Birmingham 🍻 The pub was designed for Mitchells & Butlers by prolific pub architects James & Lister Lea and built in 1923-4. This is a fine example of a roadside 1920s-style alehouse. 📸pubgallery.co.uk

The Gaiety, Roundhay Road, #Leeds Opened in 1972 on the site of the old Gaiety Cinema.  Stephen Lewis, 'Blakey' in the T.V. situation comedy, 'On The Buses', pulled the first pint. It had closed by 1990 and was demolished by 2001.
