Even in his own time, Buckley was a rare bird, but as I read Lawrence Perelman's book on his friendship w/the great "impresario," I couldn't help but think that men of Buckley's ilk are extinct.Buckley was aspirational in many ways, but most importantly,in his talent for friendship.
