Thank you to Mike Nichols, who graciously lent some of his time today to read to our ESY students. Nichols, a volunteer reader for Pittsburgh Public since 1992, engagingly and creatively read three books: 'Pickin’ Peas', 'Rap a Tap Tap', and 'Abiyoyo'. Thank you, Mr. Mike!

It was a lovely morning for our ESY students, who were visited today by several emergency responders! Students got to chat with police officers, firefighters, dump truck drivers, & others, while also having a chance to sit inside and inspect their vehicles. Our students loved it!

Welcome back staff! With the first day of school approaching on August 21, staff gathered for a district-wide inservice day. Staff were greeted by a performance from the Gateway marching band, before reviewing a great 2024-25 school year and looking ahead to the year to come.

Thank you to #1 Cochran Subaru of Monroeville, who graciously donated $7500 and school supply kits that will help fund 15 classrooms at Dr. Cleveland Steward Jr. Elementary!
