Well as it looks like we won’t be getting any sunshine this weekend, here one with some sun on it, from last weekend. The returning Drake Baikal Teal, at Greylake RSPB, Somerset Somerset Birds
A cold but sunny weekend, which was nice for a change, meaning some nice light, but sadly not too many goodies. So was well happy to get these….Black-necked Grebe at Chew, & Spotted Redshank at Catcott (just before the light went) BirdGuides RareBirdAlertUK
Just a little catch up. Sunday 9th I decided to try again to see the female Kentish Plover on the beach at Burnham-on-Sea, it was 5/6th time lucky. I had only ever seen it at extreme distance on Stert Island before..... BirdGuides RareBirdAlertUK Somerset Birds
This Saturday 15th, I only had the morning to do some birding, so decided to go to Parkend, Forest of Dean, to see the Hawfinches, after failing last weekend, as it was too busy.....success with 9+ Hawfinches Glos Bird News Mike King🦉🐺 BirdGuides RareBirdAlertUK
Today I finally got around to visiting Cheddar Reservoir, to see the 3 Black-necked Grebes, that have been around for a while. All 3 are at different stages of coming into Summer plumage. They all showed well. RareBirdAlertUK BirdGuides Somerset Birds
A quick drive out to Chew after work today, paid off with the Drake Lesser Scaup showing well in Herons Green Bay, before being flushed by a fishing boat RareBirdAlertUK BirdGuides
Spent Sunday morning getting cold, & a little wet at times, waiting for the Durleigh Res, Whiskered Tern. Which it did…sadly every close pass, had a very Grey ‘yucky’ sky behind it…so didn’t really get what I was hoping for….RareBirdAlertUK BirdGuides Somerset Birds
Glad I forced my dodgy knees up Cwm Cadlan y/day (5th May). Got fantastic views of the 4 Dotterel there, even in a cold NE wind…RareBirdAlertUK BirdGuides
After a trip to Titchfield Haven, Hants last Sunday (18th May 25), with Andrew Jordan, I finally got chance to flick thru my pix. Here are some of my best efforts RareBirdAlertUK BirdGuides
Nice to see Bri Thompson’s Spotted Sandpiper at CVL today. Mine won’t be the best shots of the day, but still chuffed to get some. Congrats again Bri RareBirdAlertUK BirdGuides
Trip to try to photograph a Bairds Sandpiper at Rutland today, with Bri Thompson turned out well, as you can see. Good to see some friends there too, & many well behaved too
