Happy 96th birthday today to former KU basketball coach Ted Owens. Such a good athlete, coach, person. One of the finest men I've ever met. Have a great birthday, Ted Owens. 96 years old and still loving life with his family in his home state of Oklahoma!

Bill Self had two stents inserted today at Lawrence Memorial: According to KU: "The procedure went very well, and he is expected to make a full recovery. He is in good spirits and expects to be released from the hospital soon.”

Bill Self has been released from hospital. He said "I feel strong and am excited to be home."

He said: "Our team has had a productive summer and look forward to our batteries being recharged and prepping for this upcoming season.”

And he thanked the "amazing" doctors and nurses at LMH for 'excellent' care.

Congrats Arne. You made a difference all these years covering K-State, KU, other colleges and high school sports. You have a great reputation throughout the state and entire Big 12 country. Congrats sir. Time to exhale!
