It was heartbreak for the Y8 girls in the English Schools' Football Association National Cup last night as they went down 3-1 at Kirk Balk. Megan I and India N were both outstanding as the girls came up against a goalkeeper in inspired form. Good luck to our opponents in the next round 👏🏼

The Y10 boys were involved in a dramatic encounter against Ruth Gorse on Wednesday in the Leeds Schools' FA Cup. 3-2 down with eight minutes to play, they managed to turn things around with three late goals to win 5-3 💪🏻 Zac B, Isaac W (x2), Connor Mc and Jude F grabbing the goals👏🏼

The Y9 boys are on course to complete a hattrick 🎩🪄 of County Cup victories, following a hard fought win over Allerton High this afternoon. Ethan C's goal was enough to see them to 1-0 victory and book their place in the final at Shelley FC on Tuesday 25th November 👏🏼

The Y8 girls turned in an outstanding performance tonight as they advanced to the quarter final of the County Cup. Goals from Megan I x2, Olivia G and Evie M saw them to a 4-0 win away at Colne Valley 👏🏼

The semi-final hoodoo continues for our Y10 boys, as they went down 2-0 last night in the County Cup against Shelley College. Best of luck to our opponents in the final🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

Matilda D helped herself to a double hattrick 🎩🪄🎩🪄 as the Y11 girls advanced to the quarter final of the Leeds Schools' FA Cup on Wednesday night. Leah L was also on the scoresheet as the girls ran out 8-0 winners against Oulton Academy👏🏼

Isla Mc(x2), Affy Mc(x2) and Sofia S were on the scoresheet as the Y9 girls got the week off to a flyer; a 5-1 home win over Horsforth seeing them into the next round of the Leeds Schools' FA Cup👏🏼

The Y8 boys turned in an impressive display yesterday afternoon, as they booked their place in the County Cup semi final with a 3-0 win at home to Rastrick. Amarion M (x2) and Mason H with the goals 👏🏼

The Y8 girls also booked their place in the County Cup semis last night; overcoming Immanuel College in a close fought encounter. Paisley G scored from the spot in normal time, as the game finished 1-1. Extra time and pens followed; the girls prevailing 2-1 in the shootout 🙌🏻

Thirteen of our Y8 and Y9 boys took part in the inaugural East Leeds 5-a-side cup competition on a thoroughly enjoyable Tuesday night FIVESLeeds. The boys played a total of five games, winning three. We'll be back for round 2 next Thursday!

Commiserations to our 6th form boys, who were beaten County Cup finalists last night. The boys displayed a great attitude but came up against a superior opponent on the night. An incredible achievement to have reached the final and congratulations to Ackworth on the win!🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

What a day at the Row with Rhinos event today. KS3 students did us proud and an absolute credit to the Academy. Well done to them all for taking the opportunity. "A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."

Two more of our teams reached the County Cup semi finals last week; Affy Mc, Sophie S and Mia M were amongst the goals as the Y9 girls made it past Colne Valley on Wednesday, while the Y8 boys defeated Rastrick 4-1 thanks to Mason H (x3) and Will R 👏🏼👏🏼

U18 girls gave it their all against an excellent Rossall team in English Schools cup. Travel & weather contributed to going behind very early & meant it was difficult to pull it back. Great performance, but the road stopped in Blackpool for us. As ever attitude was outstanding!

Unfortunately, the Year 9 boys' English Schools' Football Association National Cup campaign came to an end against a very strong PHGS side tonight. Despite illness ravaging the team, the lads who stepped up performed admirably and did the Acadmey proud. Good luck to PHGS in the next round 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

Two incredible results for our Y9 and Y8 girls in their County Cup semi-finals on Wednesday night; the Y9s played out a goalless draw before winning on penalties, while the Y8s won 4-1 thanks to goals from Lottie B and Megan I (x3) 🎩🪄 Both teams are now into the final!👏🏼👏🏼

A disappointing draw for our under 18 boys tonight against Guisley. In VERY wet conditions, we dominated possession and missed a few chances then Guisley equalised with 2 minutes to play. However, a point is better than nothing! Onwards and upwards - we go again in the new year!

The Y8 and Y9 boys were back for round two of the East Leeds 5-a-side competition FIVESLeeds this afternoon. The Y9s maintained their 100% record, as the Y8s won two and drew one of their four games. Finals night next Tuesday!
