I know many of you will be worried tonight. I get that. We’ve been through a lot. But let’s be clear -we are not powerless. Covid cases are largely linked to known outbreaks. Our job is to not let it take hold in the community & we can help with that. We all have a role to play

So tonight, why not chat with your family and friends about the public health advice and about how all of us, regardless of age, can & must help. If you have any symptom, please immediately self-isolate & phone a GP. Don’t shrug it off, seek assistance straightaway. Let’s do this

A few principles that help me understand the approach to containing the current outbreaks of COVID-19. 1. Outbreaks can grow explosively in some settings due to 'super-spreader' events, and have many cases by the time one case is detected.

2. A large outbreak means it's likely there are latent or asymptomatic cases in the community. It is vital at that point to limit congregation and contact between households to limit onward transmission

There are some nights that it’s hard to know what to say. People are tired, fed up & worried. Sure how could we all be anything else. But we are at a crucial moment . This is not a drill! So let’s follow the advice to make sure we don’t go backwards. Mind each other #Covid19
