Daylight saving is an excellent opportunity to check your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Be sure to check your alarms monthly, ensure your batteries are new so your alarms function properly and press that test button!

It is with great sadness to inform of the passing of retired GFD firefighter Ed Dempster. Ed began his career in 1966 and served as a firefighter with the Town of Gananoque for over 50 years. 37 years full time and 13+ years as a volunteer. Ed's dedication was second to none.

1/2 This fire occurred in New York City yesterday and was caused by a lithium-ion battery. Please take a few minutes to watch both videos. We cannot stress this enough, follow the manufacturer instructions and only use the charger that came with your device.

2/2 When lithium batteries fail to operate safely or are damaged, they present a fire hazard. Please keep our firefighters and community safe from these types of fires #ygk. Stay safe from all of us at KFR.
