Reception have been amazing at keeping safe during the heatwave! They’ve been staying in the shade, cooling off with water play, and even building their own dens to stay out of the sun. We’re so impressed with how sensible and creative they’ve been in the heat!

Yesterday, Reception parents were invited in for a special geography quiz! 🌍 Families took part in a fun competition, answering questions about all the continents and facts we’ve been learning. The children proudly shared their artwork, fact books, and even performed a song! 🎶

The Butterfly Project 🦋

Our whole school came together for a special community project: The Butterfly Project! 🦋 With support from L&Q (Housing Associates) and artist Maud Milton, we created stunning mosaic signs to celebrate

Here they are! 🦋 The three beautiful mosaics created by our children with the help of artist @maudmilton now proudly displayed at our school entrance. A colourful celebration of creativity, community and care for our environment.

Year 5 combined their love of writing with their learning about butterflies, creating poems that celebrate their beauty and highlight the importance of protecting our environment and local wildlife. 🦋✍️

Year 2 explored local butterflies, studying their shapes, colours and patterns to create detailed scientific drawings. They had great fun being artists and scientists while learning about the importance of butterflies in our environment! 🦋🔍🎨

Reception learned about plants that attract butterflies and minibeasts, then got stuck in with muddy hands to plant seeds for a greener, more butterfly-friendly Beckton. 🌱🦋

Last week, 10 girls from Year 3 had the exciting opportunity to attend Chess Fest and they had so much fun! ♟️
