๐ We are proud to present a brand new publication by Patricia Piedade (she/her) and Rui Prada that was published and will be presented at the ACM CHI Conference. This paper earned an Honorable Mention Recognition. ๐ ๐ Find it here: dl.acm.org/doi/full/10.11โฆ

๐ This year, GAIPS made a strong presence at the ACM CHI Conference, with another publication on eXplainable AI (XAI) on AI-assisted decision-making in groups. ๐ Read it here: dl.acm.org/doi/full/10.11โฆ

GAIPS had a strong presence at ACM CHI Conference! Regina Duarte presented on explainability in AI-assisted group decisions. Patricia Piedade (she/her) earned an Honourable Mention for her review on tech in public spaces for neurodivergent users. She also led a workshop on accessible prototyping!

GAIPS made a strong presence The AAMAS Conference in Detroit (USA). Guilherme Varela and Fรกbio Vital presented 2 full papers and 1 extended abstract, also co-authored by Francisco Melo. Additionally, Joana Campos and Filipa Correia co-authored 1 full paper presented at the conference.

๐ Presented The AAMAS Conference The authors propose a novel multi-agent reinforcement learning approach (DNA-MARL) for agents to learn cooperative behavior using only local observations and communication, which outperforms existing approaches. Read it here: arxiv.org/abs/2501.08778

๐ Presented The AAMAS Conference The authors use the extended Lewis Game framework to demonstrate how agents use implicit repair to adapt their communication in noisy environments, with very good results. Read it here: dl.acm.org/doi/abs/10.555โฆ

๐ Presented The AAMAS Conference, co-authored by GAIPS members Filipa Correia and Joana Campos Results from a user study (N=256) show that manipulating the feedback strategy of a virtual agent in a cooperation game can promote cooperation. Read it here: dl.acm.org/doi/abs/10.555โฆ
