Great video. These priorities have been studied and have best chance of saving lives and getting vocal support from gun owners but I question if safe storage laws should also be included and emphasized. So many accidental as well as school shootings involve unsecured family guns.

Thanks to Stefan Kertesz, MD, MSc for sharing this. Access to data is critical for health systems research—particularly for new investigators. We "get it" as to the "why", but there has to be a better way than a $$$ subscription.

This is outrageous. What are Dauphin County Commissioners doing? Are the PA AG's office & DOJ Office of Civil Rights be investigating?

Seeing a policy changed, or a bill signed into law, or a deserving program funded (or an inappropriate one defunded) — so that lives are saved; people are healthier or safer— i.e. using our powers for good. That’s the impact I want to have with my academic work.

Too often our justice system is a revolving door for those struggling with addiction & mental health issues. Today I'm calling on CMSGov to approve pending Section 1115 waivers that would empower states to deliver pre-release care—effectively reducing recidivism & saving lives.

🙏🏼 ProPublica,Isabelle Taft & Mississippi Today for your investigative work! Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto’s leadership must be held accountable— they chose to criminalize & traumatize mentally ill patients, leading some to die by suicide. Choosing profits over ethics.

But more importantly, there's a huge public interest in releasing the data! Congress passed DCRA precisely because they thought the public needed to know why people die in state custody. Additionally, the public has a right to know whether DOJ is doing what the law requires.

Noah Bush, 8 years old, was found drowned in Jesup, Georgia in May 2024. He went out to play with neighborhood kids & never came home. After finding his body in a small body of water the sheriff’s office immediately announced it was accidental & for two months they did nothing.
