Accra Hearts of Oak SC was founded in 1911, in Ussher Town, when the club unveiled its first jerseys. In 1917, the club adopted its iconic “Rainbow” colors of red, yellow+blue, proposed by founding player Bruce-Tagoe. A set of jerseys in the new colors was ordered from the UK.
