What I love about writing (and video games) is that it's empowering. If I want a queernormative world, I can create one. If I want characters overthrowing tyrants, I can do that, too. I can make a difference. Sometimes, I feel like that's the only place I can make a difference.

Some of the replies to this are unhinged. This is so obviously a joke. A. I’m not actually going to go practice ritualistic dark magic. I don’t have a permit. B. I’m from Appalachia. I realize it is not a primitive wilderness. C. Nobody is actually hiring in this economy.
