Hijacking wifey's Mac for side projects... so spending my Saturday morning with a setup. Terminal already getting there, Tmux later. I could pull my Neovim config from git, but it's time now to refresh it anyway, been a while. Way easier then it was the first time.

Got hit by a strange variety of imposter syndrome a few weeks ago, so far dealing with it well... but I think it's time to organise my continuous learning a bit better again. Need to figure out how to find time for the long planned side project, and get some work study time in.

Since I really don’t want to work with React (or JS to begin with if possible) in my free time, but my practice Go backends will need frontends… I decided to give Swift & SwiftUI a shot. 🐦‍⬛ Although I already found the basic vim motions, XCode WILL be a learning curve 🫠

Awww. Wifey brought me some books to take on the upcoming holiday… I’m about to relive some formative points of my teenage years 🧙‍♂️✨ Let’s see if I managed to improve my English in the last decade or so. Loved this series, but never read any in English. Vocabulary test on! 🤣

One of them days. 🌥️ Reading my own year and a half old code, and palming myself in the face. It's nice that I'm learning though. Slowly. Getting ready for the same feeling an another years time.

I wrote some code for a proof of concept today that wil get reused many ways. I could abstract it straight away to make it generic, and I didn't. Will be learning more about the upcoming use cases, and abstract then. I'd like a pat on the back please.

Data structures and Algorithms, achievement of the day. Managed to cut an down an in production 5 minute data migration process to 16 seconds, and cut the cost of it by 70% …and imagine if it wasn’t even JavaScript 🤣 here you go, real time DSA. 🫠

Code heavy, big week… doing a laptop free and screen light Saturday. It’s pouring rain outside, so will be gaming most of the afternoon. Decompressing today, maybe code again tomorrow if I feel like… and holiday on Monday. Of course the weather is awful now. 🌧️🌧️🌧️

3 day weekend… Bank Holiday weather, of course. Seems like an Arkham Horror marathon then… fitting for real miserable weather 🦇⛈️⛈️⛈️

Oh, England… the Country, where two days can make the difference between the “I can’t believe we don’t have air conditioning” and the “should I really switch the heating on now…?”

Probably popular opinion: I’m tired of the AI / LLM writing code discourse, and the whole AI gold-rush thingy. Seems like everyone is busy selling shovels. 🤑💰🤑💰🤑💰

Another day in the life of a software developer. Reality: Working on building a file upload backend, using different file types. Standup: “Yesterday, I’ve been uploading cat pictures, I hope I’m going to be uploading cat videos today…” 🎥 🐈

Huge gaming day yesterday with friends, studying today. I want to get some routine with Go syntax, so decided to go through Data Structures / Algorithms, writing some sorting implementations in Go. 🐹 So far, I consistently use way more = signs than I need. JS/TS aftershock

“Okay, nice, good kick! Now try to land a little bit more like a cat, and maybe less like… a tortoise falling off the shelf…?” Yeah, Summer Break at the Wing Chun school, will take a bit to get back in the flow 🤣🐈🐢

I don't have a lot of creative energy this week after a ton of feature and refactor/ rewrite work, but I feel like coding. Back at Data & Structures and algorithms revision, just for fun. Getting some foundations out of the way, again, experience makes it easier.
