What a turnout for our River Ribble Ramble 2023 raising monrey for BBC Children in Need! Despite the weather, we had a tremendous attendance for this year's guided walk, and the number of smiles throughout the day was incredible! Thank you so much to all who attended 👏👏

Today at Green Drive, we have been maintaining the drainage ditches and soakaways as part of our winter maintenance, by scraping out leaves, twigs and branches. This ensures they retain their volume throughout the winter months. You never know who will benefit..... 🐸

Drum roll please... 🥁 we're thrilled to announce that the total amount raised for BBC Children in Need at the River Ribble Ramble 2023 was an amazing £916.67!! Thank you so much to all who have donated. Every penny will go straight to BBC Chilren in Need. Well done Fylde! 👏👏

We've been blown away by the creations made at this year's five Christmas Wreath workshops hosted around the Fylde! Over 100 people have joined us and created over 75 amazing wreaths! Thanks to all who have joined us, and to all our partners who have helped to put these together.

Despite the deluge of rain from the recent wet weather, our efforts to minimise flooding in Green Drive appear to be working. There is very minimal surface water on the footpath, with all stormwater contained to ditches, semwales or soakaway areas of the woodland.

This week we have been out in all weathers collecting Christmas trees for our colleagues @FyldeSandDunes for their upcoming Christmas tree planting event. The near 300 trees we have collected from Kirkham and Elswick will contribute towards sand dune growth on St.Annes beach 🌲

The latest additions to our woodland wildlife walk at Crescent Gardens are taking shape thanks to the amazing skill of James Shelliker! Wren, meet Badger, Stoat and Blue Tit. More animal friends coming tomorrow, take a look for yourself tomorrow afternoon when complete!

Get your walking boots on for another year, Walking Wednesdays are back for 2024! Join us this year on one of our 9 guided walks around Fylde, taking in those hidden gems right on your doorstep! A great way to get some exercise, meet new people and learn a little something!🥾🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

In November, we had to have three mature trees removed from Crescent Gardens on Health & Safety grounds. Fast forward two months and we have transformed these into spectacular new editions to the Crescent, thanks to the incredibly skill, vision and expertise of James Shelliker

Yesterday down Green Drive, we continued with ditch maintenance by damming an old ditch and diverting water into an extended soakaway. The aim of this is to hold water on site for longer, slowly the rate it reaches surrounding water courses, reducing the flood risk downstream.

Over the past few weeks we have overseen this winters Whip planting programme. We have engaged with the local community at numerous tree planting events in St.Annes, Lytham, Kirkham and Wesham. So far, we have planted over 1300 whips at parks across Fylde's four largest towns! 🌳

This afternoon we have been putting out the beach access matting ready for the season! Located next to the pier, this matting enables greater wheelchair and pram access, meaning more visitors can enjoy our glorious beach at St.Annes. This will remain in place until the autumn🏖️
