Just a quick reminder of The Friends Of Friargate Bridge AGM on 20th January 2020 at 7.30pm at The Greyhound, 75-76 Friargate, Derby, DE1 1FN. We have invited a couple of special guests to address the meeting and it should be very interesting to hear what they have to say.

We are still awaiting the result of the application for Levelling Up grant funding for the Bridge submitted to the Government in August by the City Council. Meanwhile, we are continuing to liaise with Clowes Developments over their plans for the Goods Yard.

Trustees from the Friends of Friar Gate Bridge met with Clowes Developments and Wavensmere Homes who intend to develop Friar Gate Goods Yard. The trustees were very much encouraged by the way the bridge was featured and the access arrangements to it.

There is progress on the restoration of Friar Gate Bridge. The City Council still has no money available for this project, but Council Leader, recognises the value of its asset so the Council is expected to actively support applications for funding.
