Just discovered a really weird colour combination. Is anyone else seeing pink shading and a blue outer glow? It's just two matt colours in reality. Purple on Grey.

Germany tried this. It is a disaster. Pushes ppl out of research. The positions they are supposed to transition into don't exist. I can't keep my research team here because of arbitrary contract limits like this. Tragic and demoralizing for all of us. #WissZeitVG #IchbinHanna

Hudson Golino Gilad Feldman Hi Hudson, Psychometrika will be published by Cambridge University Press starting january. The journal will be full OA. Cambridge has transformative agreements with 2000 organizations including yours, meaning that you will publish OA for free forever; see cambridge.org/core/services/…

On Reddit's statistics forum, the most common question is "What test should I use?" My answer, from 2011, is "There is only one test" allendowney.blogspot.com/2011/05/there-…

Frederik Aust Hudson Golino Gilad Feldman We have analyzed that through the transformative agreements > 90% of the psychometrika authors in the past 5 years would fall under a transformative agreement. For people who don’t there’s a waiver. I don’t think there’s a better option for a journal like Psychometrika right now.

Hey folks! Been a while since I posted about it, but our book on practical data science modeling has come a long way since then. Would love to hear some thoughts on GitHub or here. Hopefully we'll get it done soon and out on CRC Press in the near future! m-clark.github.io/book-of-models/

What happened when MIT stopped paying Elsevier? Not much except they are saving a lot of money. "MIT is interested in collaborating with other libraries to reinvest these funds in community-controlled open publishing initiatives..." sparcopen.org/our-work/big-d…

I'm looking for examples simple multilevel models [e.g., y ~ 1 + x + (1 + x | group) in lme4 syntax] coded in Stan/rstan/cmdstanr. Good clean code, the kind you'd recommend for learning. Centered and non-centered parameterization are welcome. #RStats #rstan

We just received confirmation that our joint project SYNTH (with @BjoernHommel and Malte Elson) will be funded by the DFG public | @[email protected] in the Priority Programme "Meta-science & Replicability" programme and by the Swiss National Science Foundation. In the project, we will try to harness LLMs to solve problems we see in behavioural science.
