I understand why in these moments we lean toward extreme examples of rape, incest and dangerous pregnancies, but sometimes an abortion is for no other reason than the pregnancy is unwanted. Sometimes (often) the choice isn’t hard or haunting. And that’s okay too.

It’s taken a while to find the words - I’m still not sure I have them. Laura was an incredible colleague and example for women pursuing careers in civil service. She was patient, smart, collaborative, hardworking. Everyone who got to know her mourns this loss. She will be missed.
